Up in the Clouds, and into the Creamy Goodness

November 23, 2017

Birthday Cake

While people are going on and on about their diet and exercise routines, we are out to look for delicious desserts in the Metro (cuz that's just what we do.) We chanced upon this relatively newly opened ice cream parlor called Up In The Clouds along the streets of Maginhawa, and we decided to give it a try.

For those who does not know this Ice Cream Business has been around for quite some time now, although most of the time they're only available at expos or food fairs. Now Up In the Clouds found its home at Maginhawa. Ironically under a gym, where you can see people in gym clothes gaining back what they lost.

Cloud Cone

Well basically they serve ice-cream, LOTS OF IT. What I like about this, and their basic selling point or gimmick, is how they serve their cold confections, In a cloud of cotton candy which I'll get into in a while.

They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors. Some are unique and some are basic with a fancy name, which, let's face it, most resto, cafe, etc does. I'm not complaining because it all taste so good. it's not too sweet, and definitely not, as we filipinos call it, nakakaumay (there's no english translation for this sorry) So basically it's perfection.

Cloud Cup

To Go Cup

The price depends on the serving size or style, a Cloud Cup (P95), Cloud Cone (P110), To Go Cup (P100), Pint (P360)

Aside from their Ice cream they also have pasties, like cakes and cookies, however I'm not much of a fan when it comes to their pastries. We ordered one slice of birthday cake (P220/Slice) and it was too damn sweet for my liking. It looks super cute tho, very colorful and instagram-worthy.

They also serve comfort foods like Wagyusilog, Black Fish and Chips, and a lot of pasta, but we were to full to even try some (cuz we just had lunch before going here)

The place is very well decorated, it has that millennial pinteresy vibe going for it. From the furnitures, the light fixtures, those cascading pints of ice cream, and even the white brick walls are so up to trend. This one is not afraid of bold colors for accents, I love it.

No wonder it's becoming huge for food junkies everywhere. The place is definitely magnificent and their creamy confections definitely enticing. We will definitely be back to try out their comfort food and will probably have an update then, but for now take my word for it. TRY IT, you wouldn't be disappointed especially if you have a sweet tooth.
